A perfect way to holiday across the UK is with camper van hire. The flexibility of having transport and accommodation simultaneously is undeniably appealing, with the freedom to choose where you want your next destination to be at a moments notice. With all of the same conveniences you will find in any household, a campervan is truly a home from home, so here is some much needed advice on what you should check before you embark on your well deserved campervan holiday.

Different Types of Van – Choosing a campervan to suit your needs is no easy task. The main issue is whether you are taking trip for two or with the whole family. The age of children in your family is also important, with certain campervans coming equipped with facilities to accommodate a family. These will commonly include a double bed and two single beds, but will need to be discussed with the rental company that you have chosen.

Truck campervans are designed for off-road use to reach more isolated places. This may appeal to those looking to venture further into the wilderness or remote areas of the country. These campervans usually cost more than a standard van, with the extra suspension often reducing cabin space.

Kitchen Area – An essential element to any campervan is the kitchen area. There should be a fridge to keep milk, dairy, and any other products that need to be kept fresh. There should also be a gas or electric cooker fitted with a hob that features two or three burners, (a microwave is quite often considered a luxury). A large majority of campervans will have an electrical hook up point to power these appliances whilst stationary.

Internet Access – With the internet constantly growing on a daily basis, it is no wonder that this once luxury item has become an essential for every member of the family. We manage almost all of our transactions and correspondence via the internet, which is fuelling the rise of internet services at a large majority of campervan sites.
